Preliminaries Our classrooms run as an application (Java application) that is started from the Browser, what happens is that from Jovian Archive we make available a little JNLP file that instructs the Java Virtual Machine where to connect to in order to run it. If you haven't done so the Java Virtual Machine must be installed beforehand from http://www.java.com, following the Get Java link. If you are a Mac user, you already have it installed. Here is a page where you can check if all the necessary technical requirements for using the classroom are met: https://www.ivocalize.com/support/?p=120 Of course the computer must be capable of playing sound correctly and in case of actively participating on the classes also a microphone must be correctly configured, depending on the type of classroom having a webcam configured will make it automatically available for the classroom. All the rooms available will have a link to them, here is an example, clicking on the Enter Room button will launch the Online Classroom in a new window independent of the browser. ![]() Depending on the browser you are using, when you click on a classroom it is going to ask us what to do with the file that gets downloaded, in that case, for your convenience, you can safely check the checkbox that says: "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" Inside of a Classroom The classrooms are pretty much straightforward to use at a basic level, our classroom provider offers very good instructions on its use, here is a link: https://www.ivocalize.com/support/?cat=6 and for troubleshooting: https://www.ivocalize.com/support/?cat=14 For anything beyond the scope of the above articles a ticket can be submitted to us, we'll be glad to help you. | |
