Applies to
Maia Mechanics Imaging 2.0 and above

Symptoms
I have and old computer and I want to move all my Rave Charts to a new one

Resolution

For the Rave Chart's export to a file:

-In the computer from which the Rave Charts need to be exported open MMI and under the File menu select Export.
-A window will open asking whether all, some or just one chart want to be exported. Select the appropriate and press the OK button.
-A new window will appear asking the location where to save the file with all the charts previously selected, you must give a name to the file and press Save.

For the Rave Chart's import from the file to the new computer:

-In the new computer you will need to install a current version of MMI and make sure to transfer any special license that may have been purchased.
-Then once MMI is opened select Import from the File menu
-A dialog will show giving you options, in this case choose the first one (it comes chosen by default, the other two options are for importing from MMI 1.x) and press the Select files button.
-A new dialog will show asking for the location of the file, this file must have been previously transfered from the old computer in a USB Drive or by any other mean.
-Select the file and click open, the Rave Charts will all be imported into the new computer.

That file can be kept aside as a backup copy.

I did the above - transferring from my MMI (Prof edition) on my old Windows XP computer to my new Windows 7 computer. All 191 charts were imported however it is just one big list instead of being in the folders I had them arranged in. I don't want to manually have to go through and sort which charts go in to new folders. What went wrong with the import?
